The Indian non-leather footwear manufacturing sector has recorded a major operational milestone with Jaipur-based Lehar Footwears Limited securing its largest-ever original equipment manufacturer (OEM) contract. Valued at Rs 39.70 crores, the contract mandates the manufacturing and supply of approximately 18 lakh pairs of footwear. The regional mass-footwear manufacturer is scheduled to execute the entire order within a tight timeline of the next 60 days. This substantial transaction underscores the expanding capacity of domestic manufacturers to manage high-volume orders under strict delivery schedules, reflecting a broader strengthening of OEM partnership models within the Indian footwear market.
The execution of this high-volume order will be managed through the company's established production infrastructure located across Rajasthan and Haryana. Supported by Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) compliant manufacturing processes and comprehensive in-house production capabilities, the firm intends to leverage its specialised facilities to meet the required specifications. The production network includes four operational plants in Jaipur, Rajasthan, alongside a newly commissioned sports shoe manufacturing plant located in Kundli, Haryana. Commenting on the development, Mr. Raj Kumar Agarwal, Chairman of Lehar Footwears Limited, noted that the high-value order serves as a strong endorsement of the company's manufacturing scale, quality credentials, and operational reliability, adding that OEM collaborations remain a critical growth pillar for the business across diverse footwear categories.
Incorporated in 1994 by the Agarwal Family, Lehar Footwears Limited possesses over 30 years of industrial experience in the mass-footwear segment, specialising in ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and polyurethane (PU) injected footwear. The company currently manages approximately 1,300 active stock keeping units (SKUs) spanning slippers, sandals, school shoes, sports shoes, and casual footwear, including single-mould EVA products under its proprietary brand 'Rannr.' Beyond its domestic footprint, which relies on a pan-India network of more than 520 distributors, the firm exports its products to over 20 countries and additionally supplies toolkits under the PM Vishwakarma Scheme. Financially, this record contract significantly enhances the company's revenue visibility for the fiscal year 2027, aligning with its ongoing commercial strategy to scale its OEM division concurrently with its branded footwear operations.
The successful procurement and rapid execution of this contract carry positive implications for the wider Indian footwear industry, serving as a clear indicator of growing corporate confidence in domestic supply chains. By demonstrating that regional manufacturers can successfully absorb and deliver large-scale volume demands within highly compressed timeframes, the agreement highlights the increasing maturation of local production facilities. Furthermore, the reliance on BIS-compliant, in-house infrastructure sets a standard for quality control that is likely to encourage further institutional OEM partnerships, ultimately driving industrial modernisation and boosting the competitive standing of India's non-leather footwear ecosystem in both domestic and international trade arenas.
