Sudarshan Chemical Industries Limited, a prominent global provider of pigments and colour solutions, has officially opened its second global head office in Schwalbach am Taunus, near Frankfurt, Germany. The expansion marks a significant operational milestone for the company following its acquisition of the Heubach Group in March 2025, and directly enhances its capacity to serve the global leather and footwear manufacturing sectors.

Operating alongside Sudarshan’s existing global headquarters in Pune, India, the new nearly 21,000-square-foot open-plan facility is located approximately 11 kilometres from the company's production site at the Industriepark Höchst. The workspace has been designed to streamline integration and foster closer collaboration across the company’s unified global operations, which now span more than 120 countries and include 19 manufacturing sites serving over 4,000 customers.

For the international leather and footwear industries, the development signals a strengthened supply chain. Sudarshan maintains a dedicated 'Leather Coloration' business segment, supplying specialised dyes, pigments, and pigment preparations engineered specifically for high-end leather finishes utilized in footwear, fashion accessories, and luxury automotive or furniture interiors. The enhanced European infrastructure is expected to bolster the company's technical support and distribution capabilities for leather manufacturers globally.

Rajesh Rathi, Global Chairman and Managing Director of Sudarshan, stated that the Frankfurt facility represents a clear signal of the importance of Germany and Europe to the company's global growth ambitions, reflecting the scale and future direction of the integrated business.

Dr Klaus-Dieter Baumgart, Chief Technology Officer of Sudarshan Chemical Industries Limited and Managing Director of Sudarshan Germany Horizons GmbH, added that Frankfurt has always been central to the group's global operations, noting that the new facility establishes a strong foundation for the company's expanded capabilities.

With a combined heritage of over 270 years in pigment manufacturing, the consolidated group is positioning itself to offer more robust, localized technical expertise to its business-to-business partners, ensuring a steadier innovation pipeline for performance colourants in the global leather goods sector.
