Private investment key to Viksit Bharat 2047: FICCI-CRF
Industry leaders call for policy stability, reforms and stronger Centre-State coordination to unlock investment

Policymakers, economists and industry leaders have underscored the critical role of private investment in achieving India's Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, calling for deeper analysis of investment trends and a more enabling policy environment to sustain long-term economic growth.
The discussions took place during a seminar jointly organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and the Chintan Research Foundation (CRF).
Participants noted that sustained public capital expenditure has significantly strengthened India's infrastructure and laid the foundation for economic expansion. However, they stressed that the country's next phase of growth will depend on accelerating private sector investment through continued reforms, regulatory certainty and improved ease of doing business.
Speakers also highlighted the need for stronger coordination between the Centre and states to improve project execution, enhance investor confidence and create a competitive investment ecosystem. They emphasised that a better understanding of investment patterns across sectors would help shape more effective industrial and economic policies.
The seminar focused on investment economics, manufacturing, foreign direct investment (FDI) and industrial transformation, with experts discussing strategies to strengthen India's competitiveness and support sustainable economic development.
Industry representatives observed that encouraging higher private investment will be essential for expanding manufacturing capacity, generating employment and enhancing India's position in global value chains.
They said a stable policy framework and continued structural reforms would be crucial to achieving the country's long-term development goals under the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.
