Polène tapped Copenhagen-based practice Norm Architects to create a retail setting inspired by Milanese interiors, their rich material palette, the tradition of enfilade spaces, and Polène’s dedication to craftsmanship. The store features a series of rooms offering a spatial journey adorned with materials central to Milan’s architecture, ranging from stone and timber to leather, brick, and fabric. This gradual deepening of tone and texture mirrors the construction of the brand’s leather goods, establishing a direct dialogue between product and space.

Upon entering, the store’s spatial divisions are instantly visible, inviting exploration. Along a clearly defined axis lined by large windows and installations, various intimate nooks unfold. These areas feature beautifully crafted timber shelving units, cabinets, and counters presenting Polène bags, accessories, and home products. At the far end, the journey concludes with a striking wall-mounted ceramic installation.

The partnership between Polène and Norm Architects successfully brings the concept of "quiet luxury" to life. By using an enfilade layout that is a series of connected rooms, the store encourages a slow and steady pace that reflects the careful process of leather making. The shift from hard materials like stone to soft leather and ceramics, besides decoration, also illustrates a product’s journey from raw material to finished art. Undeniably, it is a rare retail space that feels as handcrafted as the items it sells.
