China Premium Textile South Africa and Allfashion Sourcing 2026 opened in Cape Town on 14th July, bringing together manufacturers, buyers, retailers and suppliers from China and South Africa to strengthen trade and industrial cooperation across the textile, apparel, footwear and fashion sectors.

Held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from 14th to 16th July, the annual exhibition features around 150 exhibitors, nearly half from China, and serves as a key sourcing platform for business networking, product sourcing and technology exchange.

“China has remained South Africa's largest trading partner for 17 consecutive years, with bilateral trade reaching US$53.58 billion in 2025 “, said Chinese Consul-General in Cape Town Ren Faqiang.

Ren highlighted the textile industry as a cornerstone of bilateral industrial cooperation and said China's zero-tariff policy for imports from 53 African countries, including South Africa, is expected to lower export costs and create new opportunities for African manufacturers.

The exhibition also placed a spotlight on the footwear and leather sector, with the South African Footwear and Leather Export Council (SAFLEC) leading a dedicated industry pavilion to promote South African manufacturers and strengthen partnerships with Chinese suppliers.

Chinese exhibitors expressed confidence in expanding their presence in Africa. Hangzhou Golden Shell Import and Export Co., Ltd. announced plans to strengthen its operations in South Africa and is exploring the establishment of a manufacturing facility in Durban to serve the wider African market.

First-time exhibitor Zhejiang Huida Textile and Garment Co., Ltd. also reported signing preliminary cooperation agreements with three South African companies during the opening day, reflecting growing commercial opportunities between the two countries.

The exhibition also features fashion shows, industry forums and panel discussions aimed at promoting innovation and strengthening value chain partnerships across Africa's textile, apparel and footwear industries.
