London-founded footwear brand Nokwol has launched its operations in Australia through retail partnership with department store David Jones and online platform The Iconic, alongside its own local e-commerce platform, according to media reports.
Established in 2023 by an Australian retailing family with more than forty years of industry experience, the brand built a wholesale distribution network spanning the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East, Japan and Canada prior to entering its home market.
Founder Craig Mance stated the brand was created to fill a market gap between performance trainers and high-end luxury sneakers. "Most brands focused on either function or fashion, and very few delivered both at a high level," Mance said, as reported by Australian media outlet Ragtrader. "We wanted to bring those two worlds together, creating a sneaker that combines premium quality, exceptional comfort and fit, and cutting-edge fashion design."
Regarding the Australian market entry, Mance noted: "After being in the shoe industry for so long and knowing the Australian market so well, we knew there was a real opportunity to bring Nokwol to Australia because we could see that nobody was creating what the consumer was looking for."
The brand has built significant social media traction, with more than 1,000 creator and customer videos generating over 25 million combined views across platforms. Its signature suede sneakers and contrast-detail trainers have driven viral momentum, with Mance describing the response as extraordinary.
Nokwol operates a flagship retail store on King's Road in Chelsea, London, with further UK expansion scheduled for 2026. Beyond sneakers, the product range includes boots, loafers, mules, flats, and shoe charm accessories, with prices starting at $199.
