In an interview with Leather World News, Sanjay Gupta, Partner, Sandeep Rubbers (I) Industries, shared key insights into his company's recent operational performance, product developments, and long-term expansion roadmap.
Sandeep Rubbers is a leading manufacturer of high-quality shoe soles and footwear components, catering to a broad client base across the domestic and international footwear sectors. Leveraging an extensive market understanding to supply international quality aligned with SATRA standards at competitive prices, the company has carved a niche for itself globally. Its extensive portfolio encompasses cork footbeds (European light weight and regular quality), real cork sheets and boards, EVA blockers and soles, TPR soles and sheets, PU soles, Airmix soles, rubber soles, light weight performa rubber sheets, neolite and micro rubber sheets, rubber toplifts, foreparts and blockers, and light weight heels and clogs made of LDPE.
Commenting on the company’s recent performance, Gupta stated that turnover remained steady over the first six months of the current fiscal year, echoing the stable growth trajectory maintained during the previous fiscal year. However, he expressed strong optimism for the second half of the year, projecting a 40% to 50% surge in revenue. This growth is anticipated on the back of rising momentum in India’s domestic market, driven by the festive season demand that traditionally extends through February.
Underlining the company’s commitment to product innovation, Sandeep Rubbers has introduced cork footbeds to the domestic market to align with evolving global fashion trends. The new product line has gained swift traction, with current manufacturing volumes reaching approximately 5,000 pairs per day.
Discussing capacity expansion, Gupta confirmed that growth plans are actively in the pipeline. While execution is temporarily paused pending the resolution of ongoing global war-related market uncertainties, the company has already acquired the required land and building in Agra to execute the setup.
Apart from Uttar Pradesh, Gupta, who originally hails from Bihar, revealed plans to visit his home state in early September to explore fresh industrial investment opportunities, with a primary focus on Muzaffarpur and Patna.
Tracing back to its founding roots, Sandeep Rubbers was established by Gupta’s father in 1970. Gupta joined the business in 1986 upon completing his studies in management and law, taking charge of marketing and strategic expansion.
In addition to his role at Sandeep Rubbers, Gupta serves as President of the Indian Footwear Components Manufacturers’ Association. Moreover, he is also the Convenor of the Council for Leather Exports (CLE) Components Panel. In this position, he remains dedicated to building robust industry collaboration and strategic synergies among component manufacturers to strengthen India's footprint within global supply chains.
