FUTURMODA has named Pedro Vives as its new president, marking his return to the leadership of Spain's leading trade fair for the footwear and leather goods industries. He succeeds José Antonio Ibarra, whose eight year tenure spanned 16 consecutive editions of the exhibition.

Vives previously headed FUTURMODA for more than six years, during which he played a significant role in reshaping the event into a recognized international marketplace for innovation, business development and emerging trends across the footwear and leather goods supply chain.

A veteran of the footwear machinery sector, Vives brings more than two decades of expertise in industrial machinery and digitalization. He serves as the Spanish distributor for Italian machinery manufacturer Comelz and has been an active member of the board of directors of the Spanish Association of Footwear Component Companies (AEC) since the early 2000s.

“I am taking on this new challenge with great enthusiasm and the same commitment I showed at the fair a few years ago. FUTURMODA has grown tremendously since then, and I want to continue working to ensure that the fair remains a solid meeting point for the entire footwear and leather goods industry,” Pedro Vives said.

He also recognized the contribution of his predecessor, José Antonio Ibarra, thanking him for his dedication and leadership in strengthening FUTURMODA's reputation over the past eight years.
