Pakistan’s Footwear Exports Rise 14.59% to $52.226 Million in Q1

Pakistan’s footwear exports rose 14.59% in the first quarter of the 2026-27 financial year, driven mainly by stronger shipments of leather footwear.

According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), footwear exports reached US$52.226 million in July-September 2026, up from US$45.577 million in the same period of 2025-26. The data was reported on 3 November.

Leather footwear remained the largest category. Its share of total footwear exports rose from about 79% a year ago to about 82%. Shipments rose 18.82% to US$42.712 million from US$35.948 million a year earlier. The US$6.76 million increase was larger than the sector’s overall gain of US$6.65 million, as other footwear declined.

Canvas footwear exports grew 83.28% to US$0.808 million from US$0.441 million, though the category still accounts for a very small share of total exports.

Exports of other footwear fell 5.25% to US$8.706 million, compared with US$9.188 million in the first quarter of 2025-26. Even so, the category still contributed about 17% of the quarter’s total.

September Shows Sharp Rise

Footwear exports in September 2026 reached US$19.017 million, up 58.83% from US$11.973 million in September 2025. The year-ago base was relatively low, which partly explains the size of the increase.

On a month-on-month basis, September exports rose 18.72% from US$16.018 million in August 2026. Leather footwear grew 16.10% over August and other footwear grew 39.11%, while canvas footwear fell 55.46%. September was the strongest month of the quarter, ahead of both July and August.

The first quarter results point to improving export performance for Pakistan’s footwear sector, with leather footwear providing most of the growth. Sustaining this momentum in the coming months will be important for strengthening the industry’s position in international markets.
