LSSC, TNSDC explore partnership to strengthen Leather and Footwear Skills

The Leather Sector Skill Council (LSSC) held a strategic meeting with Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC), Managing Director, Shri Simranjeet Singh Kahlon, to explore collaboration opportunities aimed at strengthening the skill development ecosystem for Tamil Nadu's leather and footwear industry.
Representing LSSC, Mr. K. Vimalathithan, Head Operations, and Mr. Mir Maqsood Ali, Head Administration, HR & Governance, participated in the discussion. The discussion centered on developing future-ready skilling initiatives that are closely aligned with the evolving requirements of the sector.
Key focus areas included multi-skilling, demand-driven training programs, workforce readiness, employment generation and entrepreneurship development to enhance the industry's talent pipeline.
Recognizing the growing demand for a skilled workforce, both organizations explored avenues to strengthen industry-oriented training frameworks that can equip candidates with relevant technical competencies while improving employability.
The proposed collaboration also seeks to support inclusive skill development initiatives and create sustainable career pathways for aspiring professionals entering the leather and footwear sector.
