Edcons Italia hosts Indian Consul General in Milan

Edcons Italia Srl recently welcomed the Hon'ble Consul General of India in Milan, Lavanya Kumar, to its Milan office and showroom, where discussions focused on strengthening India-Italy collaboration in the leather goods sector and exploring new trade opportunities.

The Consul General was accompanied by Rana Rajarshi Dey, founder and managing director Edcons Italia Srl and Edcons Exports Pvt. Ltd., who outlined the company's growth journey from its origins in India to establishing its presence in Milan, one of the world's leading fashion hubs.

During the visit, Dey explained Edcons Group's integrated business model, which combines product design and engineering in Milan with socially and environmentally compliant manufacturing at its production facilities in West Bengal, India. The approach enables the company to deliver "affordable luxury" leather products to international fashion brands while leveraging Italy's design expertise and India's skilled manufacturing capabilities.

In his capacity as Senior Vice President of the Indian Leather Products Association (ILPA) and All India Convener of the Council for Leather Exports (CLE) Leather Articles Panel, Dey also highlighted the significant growth potential for Indian leather goods in the Italian market.

The discussions covered bilateral trade, import and export opportunities, evolving market trends, changing industry dynamics, and the scope for future partnerships between Indian manufacturers and Italian businesses.

Edcons Italia said its presence in Milan reflects its long-term strategy of serving as a bridge between Italian design excellence and India's manufacturing strengths, helping global fashion brands access high-quality, competitively priced leather products.
