Crest Leather widens N Carolina ops with new Greensboro infra

London-headquartered upholstery leather supplier Crest Leather is expanding its presence in North Carolina with the construction of a new warehouse and office development. According to the media reports, the group is investing approximately USD 13.27 million (EUR 11.5 million) in the project, which is driven by sustained growth within the high-end leather furniture sector across the United States.

The new 93,450-square-foot facility will be constructed by Landmark Builders on Piedmont Triad Parkway in Greensboro. Crest Leather plans to occupy approximately 33,500 square feet of the completed building to house its regional operations, while the remaining commercial space will be made available for lease.

The expansion builds upon the company’s existing infrastructure in the state, which currently includes a warehouse and administrative office in Greensboro alongside an industry showroom in nearby High Point.

Mark Wilson, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Crest Leather, indicated that the decision to expand reflects strong underlying demand in the premium furniture segment, which has insulated the business from broader macroeconomic pressures. He noted that consumers purchasing leather sofas at the 15,000-dollar threshold remain largely unaffected by fluctuating fuel prices or inflation.

He further affirmed that Greensboro continues to serve as an efficient geographic distribution hub for the company, enabling the logistics team to receive finished leather hides from the group’s Italian tanneries—including its production facilities in the Veneto region and its subsidiary, I.C. Industria Conciaria—and distribute them directly to furniture manufacturers throughout North America.
