CLE highlights India's footwear strength at CIFA conference

The Council for Leather Exports (CLE) showcased India's growing footwear industry at the 43rd International Footwear Conference (IFC) and the 55th anniversary of the Confederation of International Footwear Associations (CIFA), held in Phnom Penh on July 12, 2026.


Representing India, Shri Mukhtarul Amin, Vice Chairman of CLE, delivered a presentation highlighting India's expanding footwear manufacturing capabilities, export potential and investment opportunities. His address emphasized India's position as a key player in the global footwear value chain and reinforced the country's commitment to strengthening international industry partnerships.


The conference brought together footwear industry leaders, manufacturers, policymakers and representatives from 19 countries and regions to discuss global market trends, sustainability, technological innovation and supply chain resilience.


The conference, chaired by Ly Kunthai, Chairman of the Cambodia Footwear Association and CIFA, marked CIFA's 55th anniversary and served as a platform for international collaboration on the future of the footwear industry.


For CLE, participation in the global forum reinforced India's expanding presence in international footwear manufacturing and exports while strengthening ties with leading footwear associations and industry stakeholders worldwide.
