The BAREFooT European Shoe Fair will become a biannual event from 2027 following the strong success of its second edition, which attracted exhibitors and brands from around the world.
The second edition of the fair was held at Messe Offenbach from 24th July to 26th July 2026. It featured 102 exhibitors representing 121 brands from 26 countries. Around 75% of the exhibitors came from outside Germany, highlighting the event's growing international presence.
Arnd Hinrich Kappe, CEO of Messe Offenbach, said the increasing number of international exhibitors reflects the fair's growing reputation as a leading global platform for the barefoot footwear industry.
Due to the event's continued growth and strong industry response, the organizers have decided to hold the fair twice a year starting in 2027.
The third edition of the BAREFooT European Shoe Fair will take place from January 29–31, 2027, while the fourth edition is scheduled for July 23–25, 2027.
Organizers also reported strong confidence from the footwear industry, with 58 exhibitors confirming their participation in the January 2027 edition even before the 2026 event officially opened. Additional registrations were received during the three-day exhibition.
The move to a biannual schedule reflects the growing popularity of barefoot footwear and the increasing demand for a dedicated international trade platform for the sector.
